Silk gauze - the established classic for silk painting - is now the most popular basic fabric for Nuno felting. Available as fabric and as extra wide, carefully hand-rolled scarves.
The fabrication of this very delicate fabric is a real art. The weaving yarns are elaborately over-twisted in order to create the fine crepe effect. Please note: The over-twisted weaving yarn swells during washing
or felting; thus the fabric has a relatively high residual shrinkage value.
FLYFEL®-web and FLYFEL®-tops react extremely easy and fast with the fine gauze fabric; the result is a wonderfully smooth and pleasantly soft felt surface.
