Sliver of superfine mulberry silk, A1 quality! These extra fine silk fibers are perfect for felting into and onto FLYFEL®-tops and FLYFEL®-web. The woolen fibers wrap themselves around the silk threads during felting and through that, hold onto them.
Important to know: Silk does not felt on silk. You always need at least a super fine layer of wool.
A gorgeously elegant Nuno-felt scarf, that is easy and simple to create. Dark blue
dark blue FLYFEL®-web is wholly laid on top of a layer of
Crinkle Chiffon. On top of that, stylized roses made out of dyed mulberry silk slivers are spread. After felting, the edges of the scarf are trimmed with a pair of scissors.
This design example is not actually a Nuno-Felt scarf, because only 2 layers of FLYFEL®-web and no fabric were used. The woolen fibers wander through both layers during the felting process and a fine melange shade is created out of both shades of gray used. The highlights are the felted on stylized roses out of white and black dyed mulberry silk rovings. First, a layer of black topped by a layer of white; that is how an impressive three-dimensional effect is created.

Super thin and soft:A felt-scarf out of one layer of
FLYFEL®-liteweb in black and super fine mulberry silk slivers. Both felted together create a very soft and stable cuddle scarf. The silk fibers can easily be dyed
before or after the felting process. This picture is the result of experiments in natural dyeing with walnut hulls and leaves.
Since dyeing with walnut hulls can be done with cold water, there is no risk of felting the merino tops. After drying and loosening them you can wonderfully
felt or spin the FLYFEL®-tops and FLYFEL®-sliver.
Spinning, knitting, felting...all out of
FLYFEL®-products!First, pure silk FLYFEL®-sliver was spun into a single-yarn, which was knitted into two small patterns using the stocking stitch. These were then felted onto the FLYFEL®-web. The white shimmering back consists out of finely pulled FLYFEL®-tops in natural white. Super simple with FLYFEL®-liteweb:Delicate and super thin felt scarf, that wrap softly around the neck like a finely woven scarf.
For this design example, red FLYFEL®-web was wholly felted with super thin
mulberry silk slivers. In this case the silk was first dyed in yellow and orange. After felting the overlapping silk fibers on both ends can twisted into fine fringes.
A dream in white.
Super fine, soft and very stable. This pattern scarf can also easily be dyed in one piece after the felting process.
