This is the lightest georgette fabric. Georgette 08 has a matt silk shimmer and the typical moss like look. It is half transparent, falls very softly and shows - like all silk crepes - only a minor creasing tendency. That is why georgette is a preferred material for silk shawls and scarves as well as a popular blouse fabric. Colors flow well on georgette and are expressed in a luscious way. All dye and silk painting techniques can be used. This light crepe fabric is perfect for nuno felting because the super fine wool of the FLYFEL-tops pervades the silk very well. The nuno felt side shows a wonderfully structured surface, that reminds of a mysterious, natural moss area.
Please note: The over-twisted weaving yarn swells during washing and
dyeing, thus the fabric has a relatively high residual shrinkage value.

For this delicate motif, bold roses and twines were painted onto white, stretched silk using transparent Gutta. The background was painted in watercolors, the single flowers were shaded in harmonical colors.
Due to the overlapping of the colors, new changeant effects are created whenever the transparent Georgette is being worn.

This nuno-felt scarf is made from natural white
Georgette 08, which has been painted using the Gutta-technique and was subsequently felted on black
FLYFEL®-web
with its entire surface. Both layers quickly connect entirely and the
motif appears to be painted directly on the wool. The dark background lets the colours glow strongly.
