Single Jersey

This single-jersey is a fine, elastic knitted fabric, which was created with a single needle row on a circular knitting machine. The shiny right side of the fabric has a fine ribbed pattern. The left side shows the left knitting and appears a little bit more flat.
We also provide this jersey as a tubular fabric with an approximate width of 52cm; with this fabric designs without a side seam can be created.
It is perfectly suitable for fine, airy light slips, shirts, shawls and scarves.

The jersey is overall easy to work with. It tends to roll in on the cut edges, but that can also be used artistically for example with scarves. The rolled in edges lengthwise don't have to be hemmed additionally because the fabric rarely frays in this direction. Use a jersey needle with a ball point for sewing in order to not damage the fine stitches and use a zick-zack or overlock stitch to create an elasticity.

Here, two different colored layers were used: one blue-white and one black.

Two super easy tube scarves:
To create a scarf like this, you only have to cut off a piece of the knitted tube in a fitting length, color it with the desired technique... and the scarf is finished!

The cut edge rolls slightly and if not under heavy exposure, the ends will not fray.

Here is another example for a double layer scarf. An approximately 160x50cm sized piece of jersey was sewn together right side onto right side, leaving a slight opening in order to be able to flip the piece.
The finished scarf was circularly tied off at one end and the whole scarf was tie-dyed in a pot. This circle serves as a frame for the later ironed on hotfix-stones.

As a last step, the inner area of the OM sign was accentuated with a little bit of iron fixable silk paint.

For this design example a piece of knitted tube was tied and tie-dyed with pink silk paint in a pot. Afterward the ends were slightly covered with FLYFEL^®-tops in pink and white as well as with FLYFEL^®-sliver.
