Crinkle Pongee 06

A very delicate Pongee with worked-in checkered Jacquard and an additional crinkle effect. This silk captivates with its transparent lightness of the fabric and the gorgeous shine of the super finely woven stripes, weft as well as warp wise. These stripes form the checkered pattern.

A perfect base material for super fine summer fashion and great beach pareos.

The wax technique is especially perfect for such large-size designs.
Here, the stretched silk was broadly painted with wide stripes in shades of yellow, green and red crosswise. After drying, stripes were applied lengthwise, using wax and the non reserved areas were covered with paint in contrasting colors. By doing so, great mixed shades and harmonic hues are created.

Another idea for a large size motif: lined up curls out of wax, that create an endless pattern. The inside is colored in shades of blue and purple, the background is covered in black.
