Crêpe Georgette 08

This is the lightest of the georgette fabrics. Georgette 08 has a matt silk shimmer and a typical moss like look. It is half transparent, falls very softly and has - like all silk crêpes - only a small wrinkle tendency. That is why georgette is a favored material for silk shawls and scarves as well as a popular material for blouses. Colors flow nicely on georgette and are reflected richly. All dye and silk painting techniques can be used. This light crêpe material is perfect for nuno felting because the super fine wool of FLYFEL-tops runs well through the silk. The fabric side of the nuno felt has a wonderfully structured surface that reminds one of mysterious, natural moss area.
Please note: The over-twisted weaving yarn swells during washing and dyeing, thus the fabric has a relatively high residual shrinkage value.
