For this 140cm wide fabric, high quality smooth yarns have been woven in an intricate shaft binding, using a jacquard weaving loom. The crepe type structure is created through an elaborate weaving, not through twisted yarns. We account it to our mousseline and estamenes: it flows like fine cashmere and is extremely movable but at the same time still completely shift resistant. The discreet pattern is unequally strong and developed on both sides; which one is the right and which one is the left side of the fabric is up to you. The extremely simple diamond pattern and the open weaving make this fabric also interesting for nuno felting. Also available in the measurements of 170x45cm. IDEEN no. 5040. Fitting to that: IDEEN no. 16057 rombo. With the same base structure plus bouclé type woolen yarns woven in.

Always a pleasure to use: the wax technique. For this technique, wax is heated up in a water bath or in a special wax melting device. When melted, it is applied to the silk with a paint brush or a small spout, a tjanting. As of late, cold wax, which does not have to be heated up, is also available. The wax layer avoids the later to be applied silk paint to soak in and therefore functions as a reservation agent. After the paint has dried, the wax is ironed out between newspaper and the silk is fixed as usual. Through that, astonishing beautiful effects can be reached in a very short amount of time. For this design example, liquid wax was applied swinging a Chinese brush and the created fields were later on colored in.
