Taffeta 10.5

A discreet structure and a fine silky glow characterize this fabric, which is suited perfectly for light tops (like blouses or shirts for the summer), for shawls and scarves. The fabrics weft consists of a spun silk-yarn, that shows fine irregularities in the weaving pattern and a delicate nap, the typical charming features of the taffeta 10.5. Silk-painting and all dying methods are emphasized very nicely using this fabric. The soft grip, the airy fall and the gentle glow make this cloth a true feel-good fabric.

For this design example, a bold, intersecting motif was first painted onto the stretched white silk, using black Gutta. Afterward, the created areas were filled in with steam-fixable silk paint in harmonic shades of color.
