Long Scarf

This is the lightest of the Georgette fabrics. Georgette 08 has a flat silk shimmer and shows a typical moss-like look. It is half transparent, falls very softly and shows - like all silk crêpes - only a slight tendency to wrinkle. That makes Georgette a preferred material for silk scarves and shawls, as well as for blouses. Colors flow nicely on Georgette and are reflected lusciously. All dyeing and silk painting techniques can very well be used. This light crêpe fabric is perfect for Nuno felting because the super fine merino wool can penetrate the silk easily.

For this design example, Gutta and wax technique were combined: first the outlines of the lotus flower were created by applying transparent Gutta, then the flower was filled in using shades of pink and the background was colored in a delicate shade of blue. After drying, some bold brush strokes were applied to the light blue area around the flower and the whole background was covered again with a royal blue.
