Long Scarf

This is the lightest of the Goergette-fabrics.
Goergette 08 possesses a matt silk-gleam and has a typical moss-like look. It is half transparent, extremely soft and shows - like all silk-crepes - only little tendency towards crinkling. Therefore Georgette is a favoured material for silk shawls, scarves and blouses. Colours flow beautifully on Goergette and are rendered lusciously as well. All colouring and silk-painting techniques can be applied very well. This light crepe-fabric is also magnificently suited for nuno-felting, as the superfine merino-wool penetrates the silk very easily.

An example for contact dyeing with walnut leaves on Georgette 08.
Alternately stack freshly chopped or shredded walnut leaves and the silk scarves.
Allow all of this to stand for 2-3 days until the desired colour intensity is reached - that's it!

After drying individual walnut leaves were painted on the scarf with brown iron-fixable silk colour.

This nuno-felt scarf is made from natural white Georgette 08 scarf, which has been painted using the Gutta-technique and was subsequently felted on black FLYFEL®-web with its entire surface. Both layers quickly connect entirely and the motif appears to be painted directly on the wool. The dark background lets the colours glow strongly.

This picture is the result of experiments in natural dyeing with walnut hulls and leaves.
The shades of brown always appear a little differently on the different silks and the merino wool, but they blend toghether wonderfully.
