A great transparent Georgette burn-out fabric with a lively, slightly psychedelic looking checkered pattern.
The base material is a mixture of silk and viscose fibers. It is created by using a special screen printing process together with an etching paste through which the cellulose part is "burned out". Only the transparent silk back is left in the according areas.
Great for the 2-color-dyeing technique!

A gorgeously light and excitingly patterned summery Nuno-felt scarf.

This is how it works:
First dye the burn-out scarf in a pot, filled with water and black silk paint. Through that the transparent back gets a intensive black color, the viscose pattern only shimmers slightly in silver gray.
Afterward, fine strands of black and white FLYFEL^®-web were crosswise laid on the scarf. At the same time, "weave" the wool together. Single silk rovings create a wonderful shining effect.
When the pattern was applied, everything is felted together.

Another important fact:
If you use soap sud for felting, it can happen that the color from the viscose more or less bleeds out. This is no problem with this black-white scarf, even wanted. But it can lead to unwanted surprises with a bright colorful bi-color dyed Dévoré. Therefore, test the stability of your dyeing before felting with your own colors and soap mixture.
