The medium weight quality shows the typical semi-gloss look of the Crêpe silk, which shimmers discreetly in the light. The surface of Crêpe de Chine is often described as grainy; a fine, elegant structure, which gives the material liveliness. Crêpe de Chine 12 falls elegantly, its grip is soft and the fabric barely wrinkles - a perfect material for elegant scarves and shawls!

This scarf was dip-dyed in a pot with steam fixable silk colour.

A few brisk brush strokes with a little iron fixable silk colour serve as visual highlights.

Here a design example for the decoloring technique. First the scarf is loosely tied, dyed in a pot filled with purple silk paint and in doing so fixed.
After drying, some bleaching paste was applied using a plastic bottle and the dried lines are partially decolored during steam-ironing.
