Long scarf

This floating silk-viscose-mix seems like it was made for the 2 color dye technique! Weftwise, in irregular distances runs a classical bouclé yarn out of super fine viscose in a high quality silk adequate quality. The woven in stripes seem like super fine velvet. The fabric seems especially lively and modern due to the unevenly spread stripes. It also works very well as a nuno felt; the shiny viscose stripes is a great contrast to the matt felt facing, when FLYFEL®-web or FLYFEL®-top is felted on to the back.  After washing the fabric curls slightly. This effect can be enforced by drying in the dryer or avoided by ironing. Because of the uneven spreading of the stripes, the fabric seems especially lively and modern.

This scarf example was dyed in the 2-color-dyeing technique; light blue for the silk and rose color for the viscose stripes. After that, an approximately 45x30cm wide stripe of FLYFEL^®-web was felted onto both ends and shortly before finishing the felting process, cut into narrow stripes.

The base of this Nuno-Felt scarf is a Chiffon-scarf with woven-in stripes out of velvety Bouclé-yarn and a piece of FLYFEL®-web, that has been cut accordingly. Before felting, a twirly pattern was cut out of the merino wool fleece and the silk scarf was dyed in 2 colors: turquoise silk paint for the transparent silk and a red dye for the viscose stripes. Afterward, both layers were wholly felted together. The open areas together with the fine, velvety stripes make for an interesting contrast.
