This pattern scarf was colored in a multi-layered way, using the
wax technique.
First, a bold twirly script was applied to the scarf, using a Tjang-Ting. Afterward the whole area was water colored in shades of blue. After the color has dried, stripes of different thickness were applied with a wide brush, running in the same direction as the Douppion stripes. Followed by a last color application of darker shades of blue.
The fine, white bold lines of the twirly script shine through the blue stripes and bring out the great striped character of this fabric.
